I'm finally home, tour ended last night with a welcome home show at the academy. The cops came during our last 3 songs, and he was really nice. I think he saw the mandolin and violin and assumed we were good kids. Hell, we are. Booze doesn't make you a bad person. Anyways, he was really cool about it and said, "Well, I don't think it's too loud- and hey, I liked that last song, but the town ordinance is 9pm. But you can take it inside if you'd like, that won't harm anyone."
So we finished our show inside with Police on my Back by the Clash, our song Sexton Under Glass, and then closed with G Thing with Brendan. I love Brendan, and I'm so happy to see my friends again.
Too much happened to adequately capture it all. My personal highlights were cliff jumping into a river. A double rainbow slash intense lightning storm on another cliff in another state that overlooked the city. Befriending my bartender in Wisconsin over Mudhoney and Sage Francis- leading to a night of free underaged drinking. Waking up on a roof in D.C., not really sure how I got there. STARS, fucking stars everywhere. Plan-it-X bands loving us, starting some random thread on their site about us... amazing. That leading to a show with GhostMice, staying at Chris' house, the guy who owns Plan-It-X. Omaha, and how like 50 people crowded around us at a street show. This scary scary clown pulling up in a car, fully made up in a wig and facepaint and the suit, just staring at us. Jessica Danger, Audrey Debauchery, Drew Danburry, Calib.. free stuff. Learning to roll Cigarettes. Surprise visits in philly from a girl I adore.. man it just goes on.
I came home to a mess, really. Things I shouldn't be bothered by really bothering me. It didn't help that at our homecoming show like 13 girls who I've either dated or hooked up with showed up. One of which making a huge scene. Two of my ex's hooked up with 2 of my best friends while I was away, and it bothers me that they'd do that.. but I'm not really mad at 'em. Just bothered. However, spending all this time with Cassidy again is wonderful. Seeing Brendan and Joey and Steve again is amazing. Everything else is increadible.
Lastly, I can't wait for september to come. We're opening for Jason Anderson and Tigersaw at the Academy.. it blows my mind that K rec's bands are singing it up at my best friends house. Even more mindblowing that we get to play alongside them. I never would have dreamed any of this would happen. None of it. But it is, and I am enjoying it so much- and if it ever ends, well I'd be cool with that too.
I want to go on another road trip already.
