Quite the weekend. 10 hours to philly to play a benefit show for Critical Mass. These cyclers, they spend the day on bikes ignoring all traffic laws, and one's who get in their way.. well one can only imagine. From what I understand it's mostly made up of anarchists (not the mall goth angst ridden losers, but the real kind) and indie-kids. It was a little awkward, but they seemed to like us, and we made some friends. Drove 10 hours back home the same night after staying for 4 hours. 24 Hours straight, in all, 20 of which were driving to and fro'.
Partied it up in Sharon last night at marvelous Laurens' house. Not much to say about that other than that it was an awesome time with grand old people.
Then today. I guess today is monday, so it's not the weekend anymore, but.. memorial day, fuckers. Me and a few friends went on an urban exploration adventure. We started our trip at the abandoned insane asylum in foxboro, MA. This place is god damn HUGE. We were outside trying to find a way in, and there were two people inside, following us, trying to scare us- but we saw them, it was pointless. They should have helped us get in.
Instead a security guard saw us, and called the state-troopers. We tried running, but they caught up to us eventually. We got off with a light warning, and they were surprisingly very nice about it.. so it was a bust all in all, but we were very lucky.
Still, it wasn't right yet. We had to have some fun, so we went to Hanson to the abandoned Tuburculosis hospital. Within minutes of being there, I had a horrible feeling about this building. Only because I'd been informed it was right next door to the hanson police station. We got inside very easily and spent 30 minutes exploring. We got to the third floor, this X-ray room, when three teenagers walked in and were startled to find us. We exchanged stories from different adventures and joined up to find the morgue and this mysterious room which they claimed existed, but we'd never seen. Me and two other people climed this ladder to a catwalk which stretched through a great deal of the building. It was so shaky and unstable, but it would have held. Everyone else had wandered, so we went to find them. We did, but they said the cops were there.
SO, we go to sneak out this back door, when another cop pulls up and caught us. We gave the same innocent story (which is the truth anyways) about how we were just there to take pictures. He, too, let us go with just a warning.. but the first cop then found us and was a lot less nice than he was. We explained that we'd just talked to the other cop, but he didn't care. He lectured us and threatened us with B&E and trespassing charges- but didn't actually do anything. Our third warning- and then we were headed home.
I'm a little disappointed. I've never had a run in with police on my expeditions before, and 2 in one day is pretty lame. safe to say I'm glad enough I wasn't arrested. I leave for california in 4 days, and that really would have made a mess of things.
