Well, our class got to pick our orders early... When it was my turn to talk to the detailer, i asked her if there was anything open for England, or Germany. She said there wasn't, so i asked about Japan. She said one moment, and came up with Okinawa. She said that is the closest I can get you to Japan, and i said ok, what's available there...? Only thing was NAVCOM DET, which is a shore command! Hahahahaha! I got shore duty! =P Sure i'm not on a ship, and i don't get to travel...but i got shore duty, something everyone wants, but can rarely receive. I am happy with my decision, but also nervous/scared. It's close enough to Japan to go visit on the weekends, or days off. Only bummer to all this is that i only get 14 days leave before I have to report there... =/ And they're one day ahead of the US...i think. As in it's 6/22 today, and they're in 6/23, and only a few hours behind PST. not so bad... Anyways, i gotta head down and muster with my duty section. blah!
