I came across the brilliant and amazingly funny Erika DeoUdes' 'Calendar of Sexy Monsters', and her piece 'Nosfember' where she had a go at Klaus Kinski's version of Count Orlok from the Werner Herzog 1979 Nosferatu. All of her artwork is worth a look, so I'd say check her site out, especially the great stuff she did for her 2015 CoSM.
Erika's take on Nosferatu, wonderful satire aside, really inspired me that you could perhaps pull off an erotic take of the classic Orlok likeness. So that is what I'll be looking to put together by this upcoming October. I like the idea of the posing laid back in a coffin, but think I'd try something else for a set. Like along the lines of the Count entering a sleeping Lucy's bedroom by balcony, and getting a bit, well, nude (but in a totally tasteful and artistic way) as he goes to hover over her in bed and place his bite on her (and suggest some other physical act, once again totally artistically and classy). Sure, it sounds like some creepy 'sleeping beauty' fetish taken too far... but hasn't that always been what the rake, or erotic male vampire figure been? An appealing figure, whose darkness, evil, and creepiness, make his ability to attract somewhat disturbing, even repulsive in its own right?
As I do some more makeup design and test, and also costume acquisition, I'm going to keep an eye out for a photographer. So far my own efforts have turned up zilch in that department though.
Also, here is the coat I think I'll go with, to build the rest of the costume clothing around (I wanted something that my core would be visible under).
