I don't know what it is. The weather? My age? My daughter's age? The whole med-school thing? Or what? I dunno. But, I'm really missing California these days. I'm missing my old girlfriend who left me 6 years ago. I'm missing the beach. The warmer weather. The vibrancy of Southern California and I'm just reminiscing like mad. I miss hanging out at coffee shops and chatting it up all night OUTDOORS. All the coffee shops here in She-attle mostly have indoor seating, but damn I miss the outdoor seating that predominates those that are in So. Cal.
I remember a next door neighbor who was fucking GROOVY. Yes. GROOVY. She was beautiful and had lived in South Africa and she introduced me to this author, I dunno if you've heard of him, but he's called Charles Bukowski, and I just loved him. I could relate to him. Or I wanted to at least. I feel like I can now. Maybe it's because I'm not as young anymore. But I totally can. I dunno what it is about the Beat writers, but why are they so fucking awesome?! Him and Kerouac both are dope. I can't get enuf of them. I want to be like them. But it seems like I'm not the only one these days.
hey. just ranting here.
peace

And I imagine anyone who has spent any chunk of time in So Cal would be affected by the seasonal mood swing thing.
I love it here, love the rain, love the winter. But FUCK if I'm not tired of cold fucking weather. Seattle in the summer at night rocks. Just grabbing a swatch of grass and watching the stars in 70F weather is bliss.
