A year ago today I opened American Electric Tattoo in Kaiserslautern, Germany. It all seems surreal looking back at it now and how far the shop has become. I never expected it to blow up this quickly. Its quite humbling actually to see what a positive response its gotten. Obviously none of this would have not been helpful without all our loyal customers and all the new ones on a daily basis. When I had made the decision to close the last shop and move the new one here, I figured the start up would be a struggle. It seems like once we had the big shop windows up, things sky rocketed. Bringing my friend Paul over from Virginia and into the fold was a good choice. We have added two apprentices, one of them who seems quite promising and is beginning to schedule people to work on. He fits like a glove. Granted like any business it has its ups and downs. The two break ins being some of the downs. Between Shop and Conventions there isn't much time left for other stuff. I am not complaining though. I do what I love for a living and make a damn good living doing so, without ripping people off. It is still a young shop at this point but none of us have any plans of uprooting and going elsewhere (as far as I know haha) We do have plans to change some things around in the shop this year and get a bit more pro creative in drawing our own flash lol. I cant wait to see what the next few years have in store!!! I know for myself, there are some guest spots in Germany and back stateside planned which will be fun. Cant wait to travel. well.......that's it for my rant lol
