(sg won't let me post the video... you'll just have to open it to find out) -- i was there, am still 'there' in that i bought a farm around then which we still live on, though it's mostly leased out at this point to younger backs and stronger arms... the town itself has lost most of its alt-hippy self to high rise... but the outlying little towns like Trumansburg (home of GRASSroots) are still amazing places to live and a very vanishing environment for this country anyway - towns of 5,000 or so, mixed politics, but strong community identity and strong links to farming and the seasons... kids have more bumps and fewer apps... the grown ups are as apt to talk about getting their wood in rather than the problems of getting to their latte class (or whatever...)... and since the dead cover bands practically live out here, there's a lot of late night summer dancin'! ... grateful for ending up in a spot like this...
