Bored with French Cinema -- any recommendations? Also with Chinese cinema lately. Did have to stop watching 13 Tiamant for a while; that certainly wasn't boring, but was a little too close to a bonafide snuff film for my fairly dark tastes...
The Tao class is going well; we're struggling with the grammar of Chapter 3 - a slippery bit of non-specific references that could either apply to 'the masses" or to "the sage"...
Greek class is interesting too -- am listening to tapes of a similar class I did 20 years ago; I was smarter then, but not as kind or grounded as now, I think. We're working on the divided line - the four ways in which the Soul comes to know itself (NOT to be confused with the four functions of Jung or Briggs-Meyers).
Sunday's class on the Katha got into some weird space -- to wit: can you get enlightened after you're dead? talk about growing a head on top of your head! we ain't enlightened people! or dead! but it was fun to 'reason' upon for a short while.
I'm thinking of writing a little astrology column here; evidently for my own benefit alone. There are some key ages that many SG's are passing through: 19 (when the karma of the parents no longer clouds one's own (the Nodes return)) 21ish, when one's self-image is available for reflection (3/4 of a Saturn cycle); 24ish, when sexual exploration and unconscious behavior has run its course (Jupiter return); and then the big 28-29, the Saturn cycle wherein self-awareness is a requisite for further growth; and the oddly placed 33 when the destiny either picks you up or drops you off... (the solar wind cycle)...
