this week was really just Wednesday. in the morning tickets for His Holiness the Dalai Lama went on sale at 9 am, and were sold out by 9:23; I bought all I could (4) for myself and a couple of friends - an act that has still got repercussions. spent the afternoon with my book designer who just had a blood transfusion as was full of energy (he's dying of bone cancer), and then a very intense meeting with my long-time astrologer companions about our program for the summer. the next day I told a couple of friends I'd bought tickets in case they wanted to go see His Holiness again (we all saw him last year) and one got really angry with me - as she was with another friend who also bought her a ticket. She was driving out here to tell me she absolutely didn't want to go and totaled her car... so we'll see what develops there. Thinking about seeing HHDL is so intense and has changed so much over the years - in the early days there were only 300 people at his talks here in New York, and tickets were like 20$; now the tickets are $200 and there are 60k folks in an auditorium. I guess it's okay that the $$ is high, so long as it's really going to the refugees, which seems likely, and that so many people are at least curious enuf to check him out if not listen to him...
now it's back to work for me!
