Bummer. I've been really sick the last few days. I just feel really grateful that I am lucky enough to still be on my parents insurance because I'm a full time student, and that I have such a great family and boyfriend.
I've had severe asthma my entire life but it's been pretty good and under control for the last few years. Yesterday though, that changed I guess because of all the pollen!
I had driven to campus to drop off a final. Walked across campus, dropped it off, walked all the way back to my car and I started feeling my breathing get bad. No problem, whipped out my inhaler. Nothing. Got into my car and decided to stop on my way home for an iced coffee as a little treat for myself haha. About halfway home I start really struggling to breathe, I stop at the coffee shop. Take another pufffffffffff, nothing. Take another. Nothing. I try to calm down.
Now this is funny, haha I went inside got my iced coffee thought maybe the inhaler was taking its time to work so I tried just relaxing for a few minutes. Within five minutes I was gasping and choking, fun, fun, fun. I called my boyfriend. I could barely speak, but I told him where I was that I was having an asthma attack.
Looking back I should have just called 911, but it didn't get bad until he got there. It was a disaster I was very close to the hospital, so we got there fast. He is the best. He rushed so much to get out to me he couldn't find one of his shoes so he had only socks on haha.
We got to the hospital he left his car right out front and made sure I got in, parked the car and came in with me. Filled out the paperwork while I gasped and wheezed and coughed. My oxygen level was pathetic I was almost passing out haha.
Got into a bed, thankfully, we waited for a doctor, got a breathing treatment, got another and another and pills and all.
I finally started feeling better. It sucked. I hate that feeling of suffocating ugh.
Even with insurance the bill was $150 but it could have been a whole lot worse. I can take care of that just fine.
But it didn't end of course, last night was a disaster up all night. My mom sat up with me so I wasn't freaking out alone. Seriously, best mom. It was just like when I was 5 haha.
I was throwing up because they overmedicated me accidentally at the hospital, yay! So I found myself back there today. Haha. AHHHH!
I still feel like crap. I just want to sleep, all my neck muscles are in spasm ugh.
/complaint over.
Otherwise I'm pretty good. Was supposed to go to the city tonight to see a jazzzzz show with my dad but I think I'm too dead. Ugh.
