Horseability is a wonderful, wonderful volunteer run, non-for profit organization that gives therapeutic horseback riding lessons to children, adolescents and adults with physical/mental disabilities, and emotional disorders. Horseability also does hippotherapy (hippo meaning "horse" in Greek, and therapy of course), which makes good of the movement of the horse to help stimulate muscles in the rider!
It's really so beautiful. I am a volunteer side walker, which means I walk beside the horse and rider, keeping a hand behind their foot, and another hand on their leg if they're not independent riders. Seeing the JOY and PRIDE riders feel from riding, the FREEDOM those have who can't walk on their own, when they can RUN on a horse, is just incredible. It could move me to tears. No homo. No cheese.
We're asking for the money because we have rented space on a regular stable's property. We're non for profit so we don't have money sitting around. This stable is TAKING AWAY our only ring!! The ring is the "corral" as some people know it as, where the lessons take place. It's more expensive than you think to keep a ring in safe condition, the footing needs to be raked and cared for. And this stable is taking away our ONLY RING! We won't be able to continue doing what we do
So please, please take the time out of your day to vote, you can vote every day.

Wow, what a wonderful program. You got my vote and I'm going to make sure that all others I know will vote too. My brother is a special needs child and I would love if this program was around here in Seattle.
