Well, here it goes. Yet another fun filled adventure...
Where to start?
Well someone once told me, you should always start at the beginning, and work your way forward.
So, here we go...
I was born in Southern Wisconsin, in late June 1983. My parents were farmers, and I had a large family growing up. One of seven kids, I was never short of entertainment. I have five older sisters, and a younger brother.
I had a pretty normal childhood. Dad worked for General Motors, my mom worked in the graphic design business. I had a pretty uneventful time growing up. What can I say, I had a boring life. There was really only one thing that set me apart from most other kids though.
While most boys wanted to be a football player, or pro basketball player while they were growing up, I knew from the time that I was in the second grade there were only two choices that I really wanted to do.
1) Police officer
2)Soldier
Take a wild guess where I went with that...
Yeah, i joined the Air Force.
Wait, most of you are thinking, didn't he say soldier?
Yes I did, but remember, I was in the second grade, I didn't even know that there were seperate branchs of the military. As I grew up, I learned more, and really found that there was only one option for me to take. I would join the Air Force.
So, at 17 I entered the Delayed Entry Program for the United States Air Force. I then left a year later for basic training, and for Tech School. I attended Basic Military Training in Texas, with everyone who joins the Air Force, in the middle of the summer (stupid mistake on my part, who knew central Texas was hot in the summer?).
I went to Weather Forecasters Course at Keesler AFB, MS. I have to say, some of the best times of my life were spent there, or so I thought until later on. I was then stationed at Shaw AFB, SC. Wow, I have to say, talk about a great assignment. Two or three hours from everything just about in the south-eastern US.
Alas, it had to end.
In July 2005, I officially seperated from the US Air Force. I moved back to Wisconsin, thinking that I might go ahead and get a degree (HA! I can't stand being in a class room). I spent the next year and a half, either bouncing from one job to the next or working in security while living out of my car in Missouri.
While living in Missouri, I got married to the woman that I was going to spend the rest of my life with. She was pregnant, and I figured, for my new family, I needed a "real" job. One that would pay well, and allow me to provide for my family...
So I joined the Army. I enlisted to be a Patriot Launching Station Operator Maintainer. I thought, hey impressive sounding job title, it has to be an interesting job.... I should have known better. So I joined the Army, and after 6 months of training I was ready to be and Army Air Defense Artillery Specialist... So, naturally as things always go for me, I ended up in a Staff Shop working in Logistics. Not exactly what I had planned, but what the hell.
I deployed to the Middle-East in 2008. In 2009 when I came home, my wife and I were seperated and I had a follow-on assignment to Japan. So here I am.
Living the dream.... sort of...
