A slightly late blog post today, as I've been busy reading all day, in addition to preparing for this weekend, as I'm heading to Oslo, Norway's capital city!
Every August, there is an event called Sexhibition; the biggest Nordic erotic convention. It's been going on for decades by now, but I was able to attend for the first time last year, and I absolutely did not regret it. So I've decided to head over there this year as well. It starts tomorrow, and concludes on Saturday. I was lucky to find a hotel room that's literally 2 minutes walking distance from the venue!
So, what is Sexhibition, you may ask? Well, first of all, they have a bunch of booths set up where you can browse and purchase some of the latest products when it comes to clothes and adult toys. There are other booths too, where couples can sign up to join an official swingers' club, photo opportunities if you want to try your own lewd modeling, or you can consult a sex therapist - stuff like that.
But I'd say that the main event, is a big stage they set up with a pole, where there are continuous striptease shows throughout the entire evening, as well as some public announcements, a wet t-shirt contest, the possibility for audience members to try their luck with the pole, and so on. That's where you'll find me most of the evening, snapping photos! (You can purchase a sort of "pass" to freely take photos, just as long as you respect the privacy of other audience members)
I was able to meet and take selfies with some of the performers, including the amazing Alma, who has since become a friend of mine. We conversed about metal and found out we had some similar tastes - to the point where she danced to her favorite band, Halestorm, during the lapdance she gave me - and we've been following each other on INSTAGRAM and TIKTOK for a while now, and she's got a really down to earth vibe. She does a lot of women's rights and sex workers' rights activism as well, and runs her own LGBTQ-friendly company of professional dancers. Definitely click the links above to follow her!
The best thing - although it may initially sound crazy - is that both evenings last for 9 hours! Non-stop nudity and stripteases and an overall erotic environment for basically half a day, two days in a row - sounds fun, doesn't it?
So yeah, I'm excited to see what sassy memories this year will bring! I'll be back home on Sunday, so I'll try to gather my thoughts and write more about it then, or potentially Monday, depending on whether I need some extra rest.
