This week has been somewhat less eventful than last week, but frankly, that's okay too. Maybe it's the fact that I'm getting old, but the calmer days have done me good, enabling me to recharge after a bunch of physical activity.
I do plan to go on a hike tomorrow, though, with my sister. She's bringing a dog that she's watching currently, so we'll probably go to a forest path that I frequently hike through. My sister goes on hikes too, and it'll be nice to show her this area for the first time.
When it comes to the dog she's bringing, it's kind of bittersweet. You see, she and her family owned a Weimaraner, pictured below:
Sadly, this fella was getting old (reaching his final years overall) and sick, so they decided to put him to sleep. They were all absolutely heartbroken for quite a while. I was of course sad too, as I had interacted with him on several occasions.
But recently, my sister got contacted by the family who owns the dog's sister! They've had some vacation time planned, and so they asked my sister if she would like to watch their dog while they're away. It's become a very healing moment for my sister and her family, as if they have their additional family member back, even if for a little while.
So I'm looking forward to meeting the other dog tomorrow!
Other than that, I currently don't have too many other plans for the weekend. I guess we'll see what happens. I was potentially joining the sobriety group A-Larm on a kayaking course, but that didn't end up being possible this time, so hopefully, there's the chance to try again another time! How about you guys, what are your weekend plans?
Let me, as usual, recommend another song that you can listen to while you contemplate a response. Since we're talking about trips to the forest; listening to moody and somewhat trippy music can be a great experience while on a hike, so here's a song that'd be excellent for that, courtesy of Villagers of Ioannina City!
