It would seem that my little Wheel of Book Title Fortune is determined to have me read series after series lately. There was the supernatural series featuring Dr. Greta Helsing; then the Norwegian series featuring Agnes Tveit; my previous read - The Dead Take the A Train - was technically part 1 of a duology; and now we've landed on another Norwegian crime series by Sven Petter Næss.
The main character of these books is Detective Harinder Singh, who I'm pretty sure has a new murder mystery to solve in each book. It doesn't appear that these have been translated into English yet, so I can directly translate the Norwegian titles for y'all:
1. The Silent Week (2019)
2. The Stone of Fate (2020)
3. Guilty (2021)
4. The Passenger (2023)
5. The Lioness (2024)
Book number five, The Lioness, was sent to me earlier this year, and only upon closer inspection did I realize that it was part of the series, so I went ahead and ordered paperback editions of the first four installments so that I could start from the beginning. And it would now appear that fate has decided it's time for me to embark on this crime journey!
Sure, I could read just one for now and move on (depending on whether or not I enjoy it, that might be what I end up doing). But when it comes to a series, I'm also a little bit OCD and somewhat of a completionist, so the first book would have to bring some serious suckage for me to disregard the rest.
So let's do some crime! (...that sounds weird...)
