FRIDAY: The Thrills are a pretty dope act to catch live. An Irish bands with their heads in Sixties- and Seventies-era California. Not a bad way to go. This show was made all the better by the company I kept for the show: sweetavenue. Michelle rocks.
SATURDAY: Got my most ambitious tattoo to date, a Patrick Cornolo original on the outside of my right leg between the knee and ankle. I will post a picture when Patrick gets it to me (he took some when he was done). It is fucking unbelievable. 3 for 3, Pat C. has done amazing work for me. It was Pat C's original rendering of a character I gave him from DC Comics. Fire is the character, and she can be currently found in the mini-series Formerly Known as the Justice League
Fire doesn't sport a traditional costume these days, so I had Pat C. design an image of her in a punk sort of style. I'll be sure to show it off soon -- it's that good, really. Picture a Suicide Girl who can shoot green flame.
Saturday night I joined by buddies Toney and Sam at a loft party where four or five bands played. It was like an empty office space that was being used residentially. Fun time, and my friends were there primarily to see their Detroit buddies who were the first band to play, Ten Words For Snow. Decent act, but I probably spent more time laughing listening to these guys' stories.
SUNDAY: I was flying low after an indulgent Thursday thru Saturday, but I bought some shit for the loft at Home Depot. Dave (my roommate of the last two years) and I got a new guy from France who's staying with us until August. Albon Picard is here on an internship/work exchange sort of deal for the summer, and the rent relief is welcome. He's barely been with us a week, and he's already better settled in than our last dead space roomie failed to do in 8 months (we booted him in January). Plus Albon voluntarily washed the rugs in our bathroom!!! He's earning an A right now for sure. Totally cool, and really fucking nice.
Our cable was out for almost three days, but it came back on in time for The Sopranos. I would've looked into a dish if I had missed that.

Luckly it was caught very early on and hasn't spread to other parts of her body. She is doing well and have TONS of support from family and friends, so far she is just really tired alot.
I'm sorry to hear that your dad wasn't able to beat it. I hope he put up a hell of a fight though..
