I was doing some lunchtime errands today (downtown Chicago). Fucking got cold again. Springtime in the Windy City...
I walked passed City Hall and the good guys AND bad guys were out picketing over the gay marriage debate. Of course the intolerant conservatives are the bad guys in this case. The thing I find hysterical is that I find "traditional" marriage to be one of the ultimate acts of conformity. Yet the religious right wants to do everything in their power to deny homosexuals a golden opportunity to conform. If only these right-wingers spent half of this misguided energy serving causes that actually benefited people, like helping the homeless, steering wayward teens in more productive directions, and other more noble causes.
No, these people would rather lean on a book of 2000-year-old mythology and act like what happened all those centuries ago should apply to contemporary society. Glad to know we also have a president who gives these intolerant fucks a soapbox from which to espouse hate and indifference.
On a happier note, I randomly had the Bee Gees' "Nights On Broadway" song in my head while I was returning to work, and sure enough when I walked past this hotel entrance that always has 70s jams playing, guess what song was playing. Indeed...
By the way, the Religious Right will be pleased to know that God hates shrimp as well.
