Geez I really need to update thing thing more. I probably preface every blog post I DO make though, with that first sentence...oh well. It's just that the social aspect of this website is a bit off....most people I try to talk to don't reply, or make an effort to be friends. So, I lose interest in maintaining this.
ANYWAY....
I just came back from Hawaii a week ago. Was there 8 days, on the Big Island. Got to see and do many incredible things, not least of which was watching a sunset over a permafrost-fed lake 12,000 feet up and then stargazing at that altitude into what felt like the world's realest planetarium (sorry, im from south florida, stars dont exist here).
I did a LOT of driving...almost 1200 miles while I was there. Every day was like a road trip!
Here are some photos...

Hiked down to the Pololu Valley.

Sunset at that lake!

unfortunately this is as close as they let you get to lava now....and that's massively zoomed in, its a few miles away

this cave is actually a lava tube

mmm black sand beaches!

top of the world! well...top of Mauna Kea, 13,760 feet!
