I had a brush with undeath about three years ago. My freind Casey, who I met under the most curious of circumstances, was an avid Vampire: The Masquerade player. He invited me play with his group one evening and, despite his suspicious friends best efforts to make the whole thing fly over my pretty head, I had a great time. No sooner had I finished my character sheet did the group break up and I never played again.
So why the backstory? Here's why. I have come into contact with a darling individual who is working on a fantastic pen and paper game that
you need to know about. Now, to diffuse any speculation before it starts, I am doing no one a favor. If this game sucked I'd tell him and I'd be playing with my balding giner instead of writing this blog.
You know how the Wii is awesome because it makes video games accessible to everyone?
FreeMarket is awesome for the same reason but for pen and paper games. As fun as Vampire was, it was pretty daunting to have all this back story and rules and books that I had to somehow assimilate before the next play day. I wanted to try D&D but those same reasons kept me from trying.
This game, however, I want to try. Desperately.
