I just finished working with some of our Japanese customers. When I took Masahiko back to his hotel at 8:30, he said, "I usually go home at this time in Japan." 12 hour days every day. I am re-thinking my snide anti-Americanism.

You should come over to Los Gatos, my housemate is a manager at REI and has 3 mountain bikes. There's tons of trails here, he could probably point you in the right direction for a good days ride.
As soon as I can get a suitable bike I'll be able to explore offroad. Until then I'll be a roadie along with all the rich old people in spandex (note to self - When you're old, don't wear spandex).
