In a world where no one means what they say, where does the honest person fit in?
I've always been the "guy's point of view" advice friend for my female friends over the years. Anyone that knows me for more than a month, knows that I'm bluntly honest and I'm not the "tell you what you wanna hear" type of person. Hence why I'm usually sought after for my advice, but every once in awhile I think people forget who they're talking to, and they don't like my answer. They end up getting all pissy cause they didn't like my answer, and I become the asshole. Are people so accustomed to being lied to that the truth is THAT hurtful?
I dunno if it's a good or bad thing, but I refuse to sacrifice my integrity for someone's feelings. At the end of the day, my conscience is clear because I know I told the truth, I have nothing to feel guilty about.
