I had an absolutely awesome day today. At the funeral last week, Chief's grandson (who has been my friend for the last 25 years - literally - he came to the hospital with his mom the day I was born) and I started doing a little networking. He works at a teamwork and leadership development camp that has conferencing facilities and I am a conference manager. I went to visit the site today. I met with my friend and one of his co-workers...the first thing out of his mouth was "Tony...just so you know...this will be the most unprofessional site-visit ever...we've known each other our whole lives...so just keep that in mind." It was true too. I had taken him a list of potential contacts and he goes "You seem really well connected...what the hell do you do...work a corner on the quad? Or maybe sell yourself at the dining hall?" I told him where he could put that statement. It was a really fun day. I got to see all of the ropes courses and outdoor teamwork activities. I got to play on one of the ropes courses. They even house my friend on-site, so we stopped at his place and just shot the shit for a while. His mom was coming down later tonight and invited me to stay for dinner, but I had to head back to Columbus so that puppy dog wouldn't pee all over my apartment. I love having a day off work to do "site research" that really ends up being a day full of fun and goofing around with an old friend.
Best friend Meg from high school is coming down to visit tomorrow. She and I will be doing all sorts of silly girly things...like shoe shopping and going to eat cheesecake, so YAY! My other best friend Meg just announced her wedding date yesterday...and also asked that I be a bridesmaid. Hooray! It will be my first time being a bridesmaid. Also, it will be my first bachelorette party. I have gone to bachelor parties (I have A LOT of close guy-friends who literally think I have a penis - I don't though), but never to a bachelorette party.
Dustin found an apartment that he really likes that he thinks he can be happy in. The guy had to run a background check. He called yesterday and said that Dustin could move in at any time. I believe he will be moving next weekend. So, even though I have mixed emotions about it, I think it will definitely be positive in the end. Our attempt at being friends is going fairly well, so I will miss having him around, but it's just not healthy keeping an ex in your apartment. Plus, it really kind of limits your social options and annoys the crap out of you when you're constantly hearing "Are you sleeping with him/her?"
So, I plan on having an awesome weekend. I hope that the rest of you do too.

I thought about it for a second and then realized the flurry of gay jokes i would have to deal with, seeing as that i am in the middle of redneckville.
No pink. ever.
Glad to see your life is coming back around.
