My 4th of July weekend was spent in Nashville with old friends from college. I've missed them so much. I have awesome friends now...but those were the happiest days of my life...when I was all worry-free and in college...it's super nice to have a weekend to relive that every once in a while.
There was copious amounts of drinking in downtown Nashville on Friday night...about 2 blocks from where Steve McNair was shot...YAY for not getting shot! We went to a place called Paradise Park...a bar that is made to look like a trailer park...where I heard a band sing about how they got mauled by a cougar last night...and they were not talking about the feline animal. Then we went to a place called Decades and we danced like fools on the bar. I had really been needing to shake my ass (which I also exclaimed quite loudly while walking back to the car drunk and attempting to shake my ass while walking, which resulted in me falling off a curb) just to get out some frustrations. Dancing like a fool in a loud, crowded bar is good for getting out frustrations.
Saturday we just hung out at Boogie & Joan's house...cooked a lot...ate a lot...blew up a small corner of the country. (Apparently it is legal in TN to buy fireworks and start setting them off at the age of 16). We went to the store to buy a baby pool for the dogs...the dogs ended up being afraid of it, but the boys used it. The Vietnamese neighbors had a huge fireworks show...we had spent maybe $30 the first time around...so at 10PM the boys drove BACK to the fireworks store and dropped another $200 because we didn't want to be shown up by the neighbors. We almost blew up my car too, actually. It kept raining off and on, so the boys would run out to light something, then run back up to the garage to wait for it to stop again.
Oh! And my car! My sweet little favorite car ever. I decided before I even left that I was going to make it a goal to do the 6-hour drive on one tank of gas in my tiny car with it's 10-gallon gas tank. I did it! The drive down I got 40.6MPG...the drive home I got 42MPG. Yay Yaris!! Although there may or may not be an open smashed bag of pork rinds in my front seat now...I should probably clean it out.
There are a lot of pictures floating around, but I didn't have that many of them on my camera. So...this is a small bit of what I did have.

I hope everyone else had an awesome holiday weekend.

^ Please tell me you do not drink Yuengling. I went to college with great-grandson(?) Barry, and the guy was a douche. Ever since, I've refused to drink Yuenglng, and try to convince everyone else of the same.
