Well, my mom is going to be just fine as of right now. The tumor on her thyroid is benign, however, there are cold spots, so it will be removed asap. The surgeon will be making the appointment this week and it should happen before the month is over. The one risky part of the surgery is that it could damage her vocal chords.
I got home Friday night and my aunt and brother were already there. We just kind of hung out on Friday night...putzed around the house...watched a movie...etc.
Saturday morning we had to take my kitty Stripes to the vet because he started limping and his one paw was really swollen...the vet said he got attacked by something (he's a barn-cat), so he got an antibiotic shot and mom made him a little kitty-nest where he is resting comfortably until he recuperates. He spent the weekend being pampered by 3 crazy-cat-ladies (my aunt, my mom, and myself).
Then my mom and my aunt decided to take off to some quilting store, my brother hoarded mom's one computer and the dial-up access, so I went outside to take some pictures. It's pretty where I grew up. Very country, but pretty. All of these pictures are of my mom's place.
Then I decided to curl up in the hammock with a book, but not until I took some silly MySpace-ish shots of myself...after which I fell asleep in the hammock for 2 hours. My aunt took pictures of me sleeping...apparently I was passed out.
Then my crazy aunt and uncle came over. They showed up with a pile of 16oz. boneless ribeyes and we grilled out. My not-crazy aunt made some kick-ass side dishes...clementine & dill steamed carrots, bowtie carbonara pasta salad, and strawberry shortcake. My not-crazy aunt is a retired school teacher who now works as a food stylist. Those pretty pictures of food that you see in magazines and think "NO ONE makes food that looks like that!"...well...she's the one who makes that food.
After everyone had gone in for the night, I went outside to smoke. I must have looked disturbed when I came in the house because mom goes "What's wrong?" My reply: "I think the neighbors are having wild monkey sex...there are CRAZY noises coming from that house and it's definitely not fighting." And mom says, "Oh...yeah...they do that ALL the time...you just kind of get used to it." Note to self: Do not have sex in the country with the windows open. Sound travels and you can literally hear EVERYTHING.
I woke up this morning and headed out relatively early, got back to Columbus, cleaned up the apartment, did some laundry, and now I am just relaxing for the rest of the day.
Anybody else do anything fun this weekend?

I like when you're naked.
I like when your boobs touch me.
I like when we have sex.
