Coming back to work after a 5-day weekend is a heck of a thing. I know there are about 4 billion things I need to do and I can't remember a single one of them, so I am just sitting here doing editing on a marketing piece. Hopefully by tomorrow I'll be back in the swing of it and I will be able to concentrate long enough to figure out what the heck I'm doing. I have a meeting that could run late tonight too. Tomorrow, however, I get to go have dinner with Trickynicki and Juggernautchild after work. YAY!
I woke up this morning and I felt so darn good. I am an autumn-baby. (Literally, my birthday is on the first offical day of Autumn). It's my favorite season, and there was just the tiniest bit of bite in the air this morning that I started doing a happy dance when I went to start my car. I love the smell of leaves and rolling all over in them. I don't care how old I am...I still want to play in massive piles of leaves. All the better if someone is rolling around in them with me. I also take my annual trip to the orchards to get apples and pumpkins and berries so I can make pies and other tasty desserts. Autumn is also the time when I'm most likely to take trips down to Hocking for hiking/camping. Sometimes I wish I lived back out in the country...we'd have bonfires every year and invite everyone we knew. Or I'd sneak out of my mom's house to visit the boy I was chasing at the time, and we'd end up laying on his trampoline (ok - making out on his trampoline) in the middle of the night. The town I grew up in has an Apple Festival every October. I won't be able to go this year, it's the 5-6th, and I have a conference in town, but I can probably bribe my mom into sending me cider and apple butter.
And it's football season!! The festivities start at work tomorrow. We are having a tailgate from 11am-1pm tomorrow at my office in honor of the first game of the season. For some strange reason this tailgate is "Italian" themed, so I will be going home tonight and making my super tasty spicy sausage dish. Plus, we are doing our picks right now for the prizes. I haven't done mine yet, but I will in the next day or two, since they have to be in by Friday. My dad and I are going to the game this weekend. I am fairly certain that I can talk him into buying me my birthday presents early...I need to "Re-Buckeye" my wardrobe. A lot of the stuff i have, I've owned since I came to college...6 years ago... Haha. I would much rather he give me money for the tattoo I am planning, but I know him, and asking for that might make his head explode. I could probably just tell him I could use some cash and leave the reason un-disclosed...
I have been tossing around the idea of having a small cookout on Monday with 7 or 8 people, but it's so last minute. Boyfriend is leaving me again for the weekend to go to his parent's Lobster Boil. Plus, he's stopping off in Toledo for most of Saturday. I think he might have a playmate there. But anyway...I'll want to find something to do either after the game on Saturday night or on Sunday night. Unless my dad stays the night...which I doubt he will...
I also put up some ridiculous pictures that have nothing to do with SG. PunkNiteMike kept pestering me since I had no pictures of boyfriend and me on here. I do now.
