I love dance.
I love it, and even though it might cost 40 bucks, it only stings like 20 because you get to feel nice about giving money to the arts. So everybody wins, unless the show is terrible, which it sometimes is. I mean truly awful, but sometimes so good! Hardly anyone realizes how good it sometimes is. Maybe I’m biased because I am not very connected to my own body. I think I walk funny. When things begin to get hectic, dance becomes a vertiginous reason to live. Movement. I’m telling you. Bodies in motion, twirling, and falling. That’s how you know its modern dance, because people are always falling down, finding some excuse to put their hands onto the ground.
