Quick update between trips. I just got back from Chicago and I'm headed to San Diego ComicCon. Here are some pics from my trip to Oman in May.
The Corniche in Muscat
Did some hiking in the mountains overlooking Muscat
The sun rises over the world's biggest incense burner.
These rings form as water evaporates at the bottoms of these canyons.
Frankincense
The old fort in Nizwa. Old towers from the last thousand years or so are found in every town. This big one was built in the 1650s.
This feral cat had a kitten in the basket shop. It is so hot there at this time of year the owner let the cat stay.
These kids on a field trip couldn't stop laughing and high-fiving us.
The national symbol of Oman, a khanjar dagger. This one was made of silver and rhino horn and cost roughly about $16,000 in USD (Omani money is worth three times the USD).
Sorry about the shitty quality of this image. These guys were not cool with me chasing them down for a picture.
Apparently the leaves at the top taste better.
Based on the bunny's expression I'm pretty sure I know why he is so hungry.
The Grand Mosque in Muscat.
More of the Grand Mosque
The spice section of the supermarket.
Fish market
More fish
This was at a dive center. There are lots of cool places to dive and snorkel around Muscat.
Well that's it for now.
