This is a UBER SPECIAL BLOG! ... special for two reasons... first... I have a new single out Today!
*bounces up and down excitedly* I even went out and took some pretty new pin up photos to
celebrate! Looky! Looky! Looky!
(here's the press release for those who are curious)
ODISSI - EMPTY VODKA BOTTLES - LOT49
WITH REMIXES BY JON GURD, PYRAMID AND KID BLUE
With a CV that reads "producer, vocalist, DJ, pin-up model for alt-porn site suicidegirls.com and former Stringfellows dancer" Odissi has no shame in admitting that shes made her mark on the scene by moulding her image from an unusual combination of undeniable talent and unshakeable controversy. While her raunchy photoshoots, habits for turning up to gigs in her underwear, and shameless blogging of her weekend debauchery never fails to raise a few eyebrows, her signature electro-punk vocal style and polished production skills have landed her a multitude of collaborations with some of the biggest names in dance music.
Here with "Empty Vodka Bottles" she unleashes her trademark electro-tech sound complete with an infectious groove that pulls the track along while disorientating strings and an array of quirky synths perfectly compliment Odissis sultry story telling of obsessional love and romance gone wrong.
"She was the victim, of all your cold advances, empty vodka bottles reflect the camera flashes, that chase away the lifeless shadows laying on the floor, you left her breathless here, but shes not breathing anymore..."
On remix duties Jon Gurd injects a touch of the tribal, breakbeat boys Pyramid provide an anthemic, peak-time twist on the original and last but certainly not least Kid Blue rounds things up with a techno mix saturated with solid grooves and intricate production.
Those here who happen to be DJs or those looking for something new to put on your ipods can listen to (and purchase) the release here!

THE EPIC BURNING MAN BLOG OF DOOM!
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
*clears throat* here goes!
In a way I'm kind of glad that the whole "rawrr terrorism! cavity search everyone before they reach check in" mentality in airports is a thing of the past. God knows what airport security would have thought of me had they opened my bags which contained nothing more than 7 sets of lingerie, several pairs of fishnet stockings, a faux fur coat and enough glittery makeup to keep a drag queen looking fabulous for at least 6 months. Unfortunately my lack of normal clothes would later prove a problem of sorts but for the moment at least I was all set for the big adventure to Burning Man which I'd been anticipating for months.
But wait! those who actually follow my travels will be well aware that no adventure of mine could possibly start without some kind of epic travel saga between London and my destination... and so the story starts something like this.
30 minute cab ride from Isleworth to Heathrow Airport
3 hours at Heathrow Airport
9 hours in the air from London to Minneapolis
4 hours feeling out of place whilst waiting for my connecting flight in Minneapolis as I found myself suddenly submerged in a strange realm full of cowboys and thick American accents.
2 hours in the air from Minneapolis to Boise
and about 30 minutes wandering around the arrivals lounge of the Boise airport cursing myself for not writing down the phone numbers of the people who were to pick me up
** A 12 hour break from traveling which included a trip to a Boise Club night to dance to some electro and down some white russians, 3 hours sleep and a shopping adventure to Wal-mart to buy supplies for the desert **
4 hours in an RV with 8 strangers turned friends for life....
2 hours of being stranded in the middle of nowhere Nevada after we lost two tires on the RV
1 hour being crammed into the cab of an 18 wheeler with 8 strangers turned friends for life and two AAA call out crew members
12 hours in a hotel in Winnamucca Nevada waiting for the tires of our RV to be replaced
4 more hours on the road to Black Rock City, Nevada
1 hour in the queue for fuel at "the last gas station before the dead zone"
and 2 hours in the queue for a ticket at the box office where i faced my first "white out" (dust storm) and nearly shat myself from fear after being told that the water truck was on its way because they had decided to make people mud wrestle for tickets.... (luckily they were joking...)
SO... 57ish hours later... I had successfully completed my mission from Isleworth, England to "The Playa" , Black Rock City, Nevada Home of the Burning Man Festival.
I don't even know where to begin. BM is unlike anything I have ever experienced, and I imagine more bizarre than anything I ever will experience in my lifetime. A utopian society is possible... and it does exist, if only for one week of the year in the middle of the desert where 50,000 freaks come together to celebrate life, music, art, love and higher states of consciousness. Driving away from Black Rock City Sunday afternoon, watching the sun set over the mountains through the window of the RV I truly felt as if I had woken up from a strange and beautiful dream that had never happened.
I could write a novel if I were tell every detail of my adventure... but for the sake of this blog I'll leave you with lots of pretty pictures (which sadly... i feel don't do the event any justice) but none the less document my week in the Nevada desert, and a list of what I felt were some of my ultimate highlights....
+ Camping out with 7 of the most amazing people I've EVER met
+ Learning to ride a bike (yeah... i know... mad huh? but I seriously
didn't know how to when I first arrived on the playa)
+ Having an awesome 'girls afternoon' of making dildos, jumping topless
on a trampoline, and riding on a strange bondage teeter totter while my
friend who was strapped to the middle got spanked by a strap-on
wearing dominatrix
+ Getting pulled across the desert in a wagon by a naked man
+ Hijacking the pole on the bar at the Nexus stage and rockin' some
pole tricks to some awesome dubstep
+ DJing at the AutoSub dome and having an awesome gig!
+ Hot sex under the stars in the middle of the desert
+ Watching two lovely friends have their wedding ceremony during sunrise
at the temple
+ Writing out all the negative shit that's been plaguing me these past few years
on the temple wall to be burned. (to start the new you must burn the old...)
+ A friday morning hunt for pancakes with my man (an unsuccessful mission
but fun none the less)
+ Watching some AMAZING fire dancers while listening to some bone
shaking dubstep at the Basscamp stage
+ Cruising around on the giant fish art car
+ Watching the man burn.... just wow... I've never seen a fire like that before!
+ Watching my man rock the Opulent Temple stage after the burn
I only saw/did a fraction of the things I would have liked to have done. To put it simply... the just aren't enough hours in the day and the week simply isn't long enough to experience EVERYTHING Black Rock City has to offer. I've already started making my plans for next year and have a feeling that this is going to be a yearly pilgrimage I will make for many years to come. Highly recommended to anyone and everyone looking for a proper escape from reality. Enjoy the pics... I only wish every single one of you reading this now could have been there with me to experience the the joy that was BM09 first hand.
That's all from my corner of the world.... in case you missed it I had a new set up up in MR a couple weeks ago... if you've been missing my naughty bits go check it out... It's called Unspoken... no need to link... those who really want to see it know where to go.
Much Love
More Soon!
