Posting and doing laundry seem to go hand in hand. Again. The flop of my clothes in the dryer makes a lovely soundtrack.

I had a lovely weekend in DC. Kept it pretty small, other than the party. I had some things on my mind, increasingly so as the weekend wound on, that preferred it that way. So, apologies to those I did not chase down while in the area.

But I got to wear my new black heels, if only to go drink a soda. I got noodles and dumplings at Chinatown Express. I got my slice of CakeLove. I got to party.

I had a lovely time at SGDC Game Night. Thanks all who attended.

The menu:
Grilled curried* chicken drumsticks
Herbed lentils with tomatoes and shallots
Blanched green beans and walnuts in blue cheese vinaigrette
Plus the random chips and dips and cheese tray

*I should have put double the amount of curry powder in the marinade. Any sauce made for grilling (or smoking) is not strong enough if it tastes good to eat on its own. I should have remembered that.

I saw Once at E Street Cinema. It was good. It was fitting. It broke my heart. It was so damn achingly aesthetically (and emotionally) pleasing. It was a real Tristan und Isolde. I bought the soundtrack but I'm afraid I'll be useless all day if I listen to it. Yes, this does mean I'm recommending it.

I'm back in NYC again. Totally not into the fact that my birthday is tomorrow. I do not feel like celebrating at all. I think I'll put it off at least until the weekend.
