I had the best dessert last night.
Frozen strawberries and blueberries sprinkled with brown sugar and tossed with just a little balsamic vinegar. Vanilla ice cream on top.
What you want to do is dovetail this with the making of dinner so that when you're waiting for the pot to boil (or whatever) you're prepping the berries. Don't put the ice cream on until you're ready to eat it. The berries will thaw (partially) but the ice cream will be cold. I had more berries than ice cream, and I think that's the way it should be. The ice cream is the foil for the excitement of the tart sweetness of the berry stuff.
I could also see heating the berries, sugar, and vinegar. Or making a pie-filling-like substance out of it. Mmmm.
When I am not employed I watch food network and read food blogs. And eat. Oof. Say goodbye to that lean intern you knew.

Miss you, hon!
