what the fuck was I thinking when I decided to watch Black Caesar?
well... this:
1. James Brown did the soundtrack.. that can't be bad, right?
2. its blaxploitation so I'm not expecting quality cinema
3. maybe now I'll be "in" on any references to it in hip hop lyrics
4. this could be fun... maybe?... kinda?
5. well at least I can say I did
anyway.... it was mostly not worth it aside from getting to analyze the cool 70s style of moviemaking and comparing that to now..... I like how the optimism of the 60s manifested itself in really morally ambiguous really human movies in that period... there are so many movies from that time where the hero is kind of a bad guy... and not always sympathetic...
... ahhhh a time before test audiences...
still maybe I should have watched "How I Won the War" instead.... just to see John Lennon, if nothing else....
