This year has been a lesson in close but no cigar and just how frustrating that can be.
My band has been struggling to find a permanent drummer....we finally find someone that love our style of music and can play it better than anyone I've ever played with but it turns out that while he likes our music it's not what he wants to actually play anymore.
I've been doing some dating for the last two years and met some cool people but nobody that I really want a long term relationship. Well I finally meet this really great girl but she lives 350-miles away. I start to get to the point where I might consider a long distance relationship but everything just sort of fizzles out as she loses interest while trying to figure out if it was workable (which it probably wasn't).
Work-wise I get really close to my perfect job...have what I consider 3 great interviews and then I just didn't hear anything back when I was suppossed to get a call from them one way or the other. I did find a really nice job though but it's also the hardest I've ever had to work but so far it's been worth it....still, I would have prefered the other one.
I'm just at the point where I've lost motivation to even try. It takes a minor miracle for me to put up another drummer wanted ad and unless someone literally falls into my lap I don't see myself doing much dating in the near future. I really good use a little good fortune, it's been awhile.

Something'll come along and smack you in the face with goodness when you least expect it.
