[rant about bike]oooh the STRESS of calling scotland and bury repeatedly... just for a new frame!! i bloody hope norco get their fingers out and send some stuff this way... it begins to take the piss i tell you.[/rant about bike]

but in normal life, things seem to be not too shabby, getting on with my intercalating, not really doing too much, i dont know if thats good or not? work at spiders tonight, which will be ahem.. fun. then work again tomorrow in the day AND on the night, lazy sunday? who can say or maybe who even cares? i went out with a couple of friends last night and ended up discussing convictions with emma, she wanted to make religious convictions somehow separate to the convictions of someone such as say a racist. my point was that anyone with convictions such as those views them as being central to their lives and therefore often altering their perceptions hence becoming "the truth". she was meaning that a racist, or in a lesser case someone who say wants to stretch their earlobes might want to moderate for the sake of not offending the community at large, to which i countered with the idea that perhaps a anglican or protestant wants to moderate as not to offend the catholics? i think we eventually got to a middle ground of saying that while certain people who hold strong convictions might be aware that their holding said convictions are likely to offend certain quarters of society, the offence is not the desired outcome and therefore is not culpable. the people who we both agreed to be in the wrong are those people who are controversial in their views and convictions for the purpose of offending quarters of society - i personally believe that my desire to be pierced and tattooed and so forth is intrinsically selfish. i appreciate that i might cause offence or even revulsion from some people, but i am not intending to do so - on the other hand, in this country it is easier than ever to be "alt" and many kids sign up for the "fashion" of it all, these kids with their plexi-emotions and fake angst, THEY are culpable because they simply want a reaction and to be noticed not caring how this reaction and recognition is achieved. its now quite possible that i have ceased to make any sense whatsoever, please move along, nothing to see here...
