Don't you worry. Sooner or later...everything you find sacred and close to your heart will hit the mainstream. EVERYTHING! There is nothing new under the sun that won't be popular. I have come about this realization the hard way.
First it was Green Day, then it was all punk rock, then there were some other smaller things in there, then there was skateboarding, and now...my favorite artist! Yes, I saw one of my favorite artists' T-shirts at the mall in my hometown. At the Buckle nonetheless. They were 28 bucks a pop too!
Obey Giant has gone mainstream. *SIGH*
I honestly don't really know what to do. I might be over reacting a little bit. The whole idea behind everything Obey Giant was about had to do with Phenomenology. The idea of letting everything manifest itself. Not knowing what Andre the Giant has a Posse was all about made it totally unique. Now, when people see the giant with the word Obey under it, they will think of the clothing line and think it was just some ad campaign, not what it originally stood for.
Ah fuck it. Maybe I am just jaded. Maybe I am just pissed off that something I took so dear to my heart is gonna be worn by high school kids that don't have any idea what the whole movement is all about.
Someone please tell me what to do.
:broken heart:
