Here are some recent pics of me looking particularly svelte.
I also have to urge to take up a martial art. I think I'm going to start fencing again, which I haven't done for about 15 years. I used to fence foil and pe in high school and college but have always wanted to learn sabre. Maybe it's time.
See? I said changes were afoot in the last blog. In other news I'm on the lookout to purchase a car. Yes it's time to vehiculate myself so I can stop arriving to auditions all sweaty and disheveled from biking.
Apropos of nothing, here's some stuff that makes me happy:
Well, this one is more happy/sad. Madeleine Peyroux channels Billy Holiday covering Elliott Smith. This is one of my favorite music tracks ever:
Marianne Faithful bringin' the mid-20th century decadence:
Me rockin' the ushanka my Moms got me for Christmas. (Have I mentioned I really love my Mom? Well I do.) It keeps my noggin toasty when I have to brave the Chicago winter:
The best god-damn breakfast I've had in ages. That's a Croque Madame sandwich beneath those eggs:
gym is amazing - which do you go to?
i have mixed feelings about you getting a car... i liked being able to tell people that i had a friend in la who relied on public transportation with a bike to supplement. i also liked the ongoing proof that it would be an option for me. i feel like biking as transportation creates a constant opportunity to exercise - and because it's viewed as transportation, not exercise, i find it to be so much more enjoyably healthy. not biking has destroyed my health! but, fortunately, you're also actively investing in your health in other ways, so, hopefully you will not face that stupid issue.
i want to see you again soon. i'm leaving town for a few days, but will be back by the 25th. then i'm unemployed... or, rather, self-employed.
