Well, I'm back from my Portland vacation. I needed a little rest, and it's a good thing I got it becuase now I'm going to be in for 8 weeks of nonstop busy-ness as I get ready to move to L.A. Yes, it's imminent! I'm going to be flying out in the first week of October.
So, yes, I'm excited and more than a little freaked out.
In good news, I talked to my VO agent about it today and she was disappointed I was going, but supportive. We talked about what we could do to help me get an agent in L.A. and her continuing to represent me here in Chicago. So it went great actually.
So, during our meeting she told me that I had an offer of a SAG voice over gig during my recent Portland trip. But I would have had to fly back from Portland the next day and it was only a demo recording (so I would have only paid $250 or so and no residuals) so she didn't ask me to do it. Goddamn it! The same thing happened to me last time I was out of town! I get two union gig offers in the last year, and both come when I'm out of town--that's some freakin' bad luck I gotta say. Ah well, at least someone wanted me.
