I spent $360 on new bedding yesterday, so that my girlfriend would A) be warmer (I kind of like sleeping cold), and B) not have to sleep on sheets that my ex-wife ever slept on. It seems only fair.

Seriously: a whole set of sheets & pillowcases, 2 blankets, a new comforter, and new pillows. I even got a dust ruffle.

Today I have my trial at the hotel where I'm trying to get hired as sous chef. The real contention is that the chef wants to hire me, but not as sous. I'm going in around 3.30 to put together a special that we're going to run in the dining room tonight. Have to come up with something I can prep and put together pretty fast once I decide what I'm going to do. I've been going over his menu all morning, but I won't really know what I have to work with until I get there. And it has to be something that will impress him, but if I over-reach, I'll run out of time and screw it up.

This is fairly important.
