So my road trip was pretty damn cool. (I love to drive, even for what may seem like excesive amounts of time.)
I flew in to Milwaukee 1/2 hour late...arrived about 630pm... met my friend Jen and jumped in the car and promptly headed out of state. About 5 hours & Mt Dews later, we had made it to Des Moines, where we almost thought we had missed all of the lodging for the night...luckily we found a Best Western near the outskirts of town.
The next morning we set out for Denver...no offense to any locals, but there apparently is no real reason to go to Iowa or Nebraska (unless you are interested in some old western US history)... we drove for miles looking for a restaurant, ended up in some town named Walnut (pop 897) and ate at Aunt B's kitchen (another attraction you can skip).
When I finally got to the state line of Colorado, I was greeted by a fine member of Colorado law enforcement. I was only only doing 86 in a 75 (had been doing 90+ up til then)... so I figured I was just going to get a warning. But apparently this was quota time, so I either get to mail in $51 or go to court in May... uh yea, can we say revenue generation. Who would ever go to court to fight a $50 ticket??? (My last ticket in California was $130 for 76 in a 70... although, he just couldnt prove I was going faster, lol...)
So anyway... we get to Denver, my buddy Ryan and his roommate pick us up at our Hotel in downtown. We then head to the Rio Grande Mexican Restaurant... the food was so so, but they mix their Margaritas with Everclear... they were the absolute freaking best Margaritas I've ever had!!! Too bad the limit is 3. So after we drank the limit, we headed out to this little Martini Bar down the street which was pretty cool. I found out that due to the altitude, you get drunk a lot faster than normal. But it was all good... Denver looks like a great city, and is definitely on my list to return to, to find some more trouble.
(I was pissed because the Roots played there Friday night, but we had no way to extend our trip, due to time constraints)
So we continued on Friday morning... not a bad trip the rest of the way, except that someone had lost it, and decided to roll their car down the rockies which stuck us in traffic for about 2 extra hours...but 14 hours later, the energy of Vegas picked me up again as we made it home.
Definetly a cool experience... and fun times for all involved.
Although, I could probably use a soak in a hot tub after all that sitting.

Sounds like a good time. I'd love to go a good long drive across the country.
