So we were supposed to do all out valentine stuff yesterday but a tornado came ripping through town the night before. I spent that night listening to the rain and the constant low rumbling thunder off in the distance. I told Ed over IM that it was wet and noisy but didn't tell him about the tornado warning b/c those aren't that unusual.

Mikal's class was canceled because power was iffy at Tulane and since we had power we called around to see if everybody was ok and if anybody needed to get out of their house for a while. We have many opportunities to have nice quiet dinners together and didn't really need the excuse of valentine's day but we don't hang out with other people enough. I just needed my chocolate and sushi.

So we ended up picking up John and dropping him off for a haircut while we braved the mall in search of Godiva. I've already eaten half of my box of eight truffles. We got some fantastic duck quesadillas with peach chipotle at Lager's and later we walked up to Sushi Brothers to give it a try so I got my sushi, which was really good. The actress who played Stifler's Mom was there, but I didn't see her before she left. We watched alot of Boondocks and Heroes and generally had a very nice day. John's power was back by the time we dropped him off at home.

When I got up this morning I had a very cute Zelda card, and a very sweet note from Ed in my e-mail. I didn't try to get in touch with him right away b/c we had to run off to do laundry, but while we were gone he left Mikal a slightly worried IM b/c he'd just heard about the tornado. He figured we were fine since Mikal was online though. When I got home I filled him in that the tornado hadn't been last night but the night before when I was up talking to him anyway. He should call me tomorrow. *grins* I owe him naughty valentine pics. I got Mikal silk purple undies b/c he complains that I've never bought him naughty undies. I will probably send Derrick a naughty valentine too after I get those pictures taken.

So we went down to see Druids and the crowd was pretty thin so I got goodly pelted with beads. I caught some that were still in a bag and some that were still in a bunch that I might send up to Ed with some other local goodies. I took a few pics of the parade for him but my batteries ran out so I'll have to get more at the next parade. And I caught a pair of glass beads. I'd only caught a handful growing up, mostly from truck floats and I haven't caught a pair in years. We met up with someone that Mikal knew from SG but we didn't stay out long because Mikal was hungry and wanted to go home and make curry and I needed to stop at walgreens for a couple of things first.
