So, it's hotter than hell out for about the third day in a row, and I'm so tired I can barely see straight, much less think straight, and I've got tons of stuff going on.
The bridal shower I've been talking about is this Sunday. We still don't know how we're going to get the bride there, and her aunt (Tailin's mom) is stressing over tables, chairs and table linens. We're having the shower at her house.
I went to a really awesome nature preserve in Delaware yesterday, as part of my work day, which made it even better. It's a private estate that has teamed up with the Delaware Nature Society and is preserving its land for mainly educational purposes, besides just wanting to protect open forest land in the state of DE.
I know both of the guys who work there, we're all part of the Longwood Gardens crowd, although I didn't meet either of them until the Native Plants in the Landscape Conference when I went last year. I hope to get back and learn lots from then, as the tour was very short (which was a good thing, cause the older ladies were huffing and puffing walking the trails in the woods). They are doing a lot of the same things there that we are trying to do where I work, so I was really excited.
I always feel like I'm missing so much as far as my knowledge about my field goes, and visiting those types of places at least raises my awareness about what I should try to learn next.
I got my Om tat touched up yesterday. It made me want to get more ink though. I have to start working on/saving for my next piece.
I have a half day at work tomorrow, in the afternoon. Don't know if we''ll go out tonight or not, but I just needed a few hours at home to relax. I like taking the mornings off sometimes because it lets me sleep a little more, I don't go to bed earlier when I take an afternoon off.
Guess that's all for now kids..

Have you ever attended ECC before? This is my first "big" SG event and I'm way too excited!
And you're right, this heat is amazingly oppressive. *melts into puddle*
