It's the Weekend!
So, we're going to look at Bridemaid dresses today. I hope we can find something that we can all look nice in and that we can actually get in time for the wedding.
Here's more bridal shower drama. We thought we'd just be inviting the bride's mom's side of the family to the shower (not my idea, but I was told that she wasn't close to her father's side of the family and that we didn't need to invite them. I didn't agree, but wasn't going to get into it, their family is wierd - I love them, but they are wierd. The groom's mother is having a shower for his side of the family) So then, the bride's mother goes to a funeral for one of her husband's relatives , and all the relatives are asking when the bride's shower will be (big surprise). So now the number is up around 30 or so.
Now, the lucky thing is that my mother in law offered to have the shower at her house (it's much bigger than ours) and to foot the bill for the food. She was really cute about it, she didn't want to offend me, but knew I couldn't really affford to feed all those people, and knew that I couldn't fit them all at our house. So, she checked her calendar, picked out a date, that was luckily good for me, so hopefully good for the bride as well.
Now it's full speed ahead on invitations and planning. Anyone have specific ideas of what not to do? I'm hoping on havng everyone bring a copy of their favorite recipe. I love to eat, so food is always a plus for me. And because neither the bride nor the groom live on their own, even though I'm sure they've both cooked on a regular basis, it's different in your own house, and new ideas for dinner are fun.
The hockey game was great, we were down by three at the beginning of the third period, and then came back and whooped their goalie (I think we made him cry), and then scored on their fresh goalie too. The final score was 7-4. It was really fun.
So, I was rinsing off before I got dressed to go to the game, and guess who pushes open the bathroom door and hops intot the shower.. Our puppy girl Kira. She's facinated by water, but sits outside of the shower when her daddy's in there, so I wasn't too worried about latching the door when I hopped in. She didn't get out either, she just hung out next to me, letting the water fall on her. It was kind of cute.
I was reading Uncle John's Supremely Satifying Bathroom Reader this morning, and found a great list of proverbs from different countries, so I'm going to post them for you every once in a while.
Today's is from Kenya: "There is no phrase without a double meaning"
Keep that in mind!
Have a great weekend everyone!
