hello internet boyfriends and girlfriends!
It's been a crazy week.
First thing's first: I got my wisdom teeth out! (all 4) *ouch*
I got them out on Tuesday, and I'm still in some pain. I was REALLY freaked out about being put under during the extraction. The idea of being rendered unconscious, losing a chunk of time, and waking up groggy and out of it, with less bones in my skull than I fell asleep with completely freaked me out. So after a full-blown panic attack at the oral surgeon's office, and causing a small scene, I opted to have them removed with only local anesthetic.
They gave me some laughing gas before they began, to help endure the 8 needles required to freeze my mouth. (Actually 10, since one of my teeth hurt extra-bad ) After the needles they switched it to oxygen so I was conherent for the surgery. It only took about 45 minutes, and I was much happier with my decision afterwards, because I was able to walk right out, feeling awake and alert.
I didn't have much swelling, and no visible bruising, but the recovery has been pretty painful. And frustrating! There are only so many helpings of fruit smoothies and soup that one person can take! Hopefully by next week I'll be back to normal.
On Thursday my boyfriend David got back from a week-long vacation in Cuba! He went with 3 friends on a spur-of-the-moment trip. I didn't go for a few reasons: a) I had to work b)I had my appointment to get my teeth out and (most importantly) c) I don't have a passport! Anywho, he came back super tanned and seemed to have had a great time!
He brought me back an interesting present from his vacation though... an ILLEGAL present. My INSANE boyfriend decided he wanted to bring me back something reeeally special. Not a shirt, not a keychain, nothing typical. So the loving but INSANE boy that he is brought me back a LIZARD!!! Yes, a LIVE, CUBAN LIZARD!!! He managed to hide the little guy in a cigar box in his luggage. I don't know how he survived, but David is lucky not to be locked up in a Cuban prison right now for smuggling live animals out of the country!
But luckily, the little guy survived the trip back to Canada, and is the newest addition to my family:
My dad named him "Fidel". Isn't he too damn cute?! He now lives in my room with plenty of crickets, water, light and attention in his very own 3 foot long tank.
As much as I love him my fur-face will always be my number one:
My toby
And while I'm showing pictures, this is the crazy boyfriend that caught and smuggled a Cuban lizard for me:
The girl beside him is my sister. We look nothing alike, it's hilarious. She's 4'11" and a music teacher in a private school. Blue eyes, thin brown hair and no tattoos or piercings. Weird, but I love her!
Speaking of me sister, her husband got the good news on Tuesday that he was accepted into the med program he applied to! The down side: it will keep he and my sister in England for 1 year, Grenada for 1 year and the US for two years. My sister and brother in law will be moving away for 4 years while he gets his phd! I'm so happy for them, because they both really wanted him to get accepted, but I'm going to miss them so much! They're moving in August, so I better get cracking on a passport application!
I got my memorial tattoo for Jon last week. It helped me get some much needed closure on his passing, and it comforts me to know he'll always be with me:
Finally, Fynx and I sent our multi in for staff review, so hopefully they like it, and we get to taste front page again! Here's a little taste of "After Hours":

that is insane that he brought that back for you. hahaha omg.
He's really cute, you're little lizard.
The idea of you chosing local anasthetic made me feel really sick, I can't believe anyone would do that. Even though the idea of being knocked out for it is really scary too. I had a dentist that tried to take out a buried tooth with local anasthetic, and it went really wrong. The anasthetic didn't work and they even cut me open in the wrong place. They refused to believe me that the anasthetic didn't work either. But I'm glad you managed.
