Hey SG it's been awhile! A lot has happened since my last blog but I won't get into all that right now, but I do wanna share my first Pride experience with you all!
A friend and I decided on a whim to go to Louisville Pride Parade yesterday. We we're both pretty pumped seeing as this was a first for both of us. It was a lot of fun with crazy outfits and rainbow flags everywhere! And of course protesters, because you can't have a pride event or really any group celebration in the south without protesters. I mean just last month the KKK was holding a rally in my hometown during a local festival... They got booed out of town of course so I don't think they'll be back.
Anyway, I wish I had more pictures and video from the parade but my phone kinda freaked and deleted what I took, luckily my friend took a few photos though.
Some highlights from the parade that I unfortunately did not get pictures of were the rocky horror float complete with the time warp playing over loud speaker, A group of dancing flamingos, and the drag queen pageant float. Also one of the flamingo guys chased me for a block to tell me he thought I looked radiant, which just absolutely made my night. <3
I also saw a topless lady walking around with rainbow pasties on... definitely caught my attention lol
All in all I would say our first Pride event was a success and we definitely wanna do it again next year!
