Well, another day of not being a substitute over with. I got another call tonight but I was out AGAIN and by the time I got the message, the spot had already been filled. Dammit. I'm afraid I'll never get work at this rate! But there are still three schools that could potentially call tomorrow morning. So I've got my fingers crossed and shit.
But on the upside, I went fishing today. Hooray for fishing! Yet, once again, I caught nothing. I blame it on the pole. Or rather, the reel. It's a piece of SHIT. Kept getting all tangly and junk. I did catch a little feeder fish. But it's not like it even bit the line. I was yanking the hook off a piece of plant and when I yanked it, it snagged the fishie. But the fishie wasn't hurt, I just got it enough to pull it out of the water. I picked it off and dumped it back in.
Then it started pouring and I decided to go back to shore because the water was getting too turgid to see very well and it's already difficult to wade across with all the rocks and such. Ended up up to my neck in water at one point because I couldn't tell how deep it was with the raindrops hitting the surface. Oh well. Like I wasn't already wet. Got back to land and waited for Eric to come in. I did a little hiking around the woods while he continued to fish. When he came to land, we went hiking up to this rock outcrop that we couldn't figure out if it was man-made or not.
There is something SO sexy about hiking around the woods in the pouring rain.
