New Year Resolutions
Well something that is killing me has got to STOP. Ive read a lot about it and I am so scared.
I want to stop smoking. People make it sound so easy , like oh you have no self control. But it isnt that easy. I am a big smoker. A pack a day , sometimes more.
I smoke when i drive, after i eat, after sex, during breaks at work, talking on the phone, I smoke so much, especially when I am drinking. Now most bars make you go outside to smoke, oh well, i still go outside, in the freezing cold, I dont care.
If ANYONE has any tips or advice or knows of any good groups let me know, or websites.
I have read about withdraw and I am scared about that. I dont want to try gums etc. and they not work?
I really need to stop smoking, i am only 20 well amost 21, and i have smoked sense I was 13. 13 years old. Thats so long.
ANyways like I said if anyone knows of anything or wants to share their experience with me, please let me know, id really appreciate it. I wish I could stop today, but everytime I say its time to quit I light right up.

i quit cold turkey but had football to get me through it. really serious though, a physical activity is a great way to get it off your mind and helps with the withdrawl. you should consider some kind of aerobic kickboxing or the like

i'm currently reading through 'the easy way to stop smoking' by allen carr. my friend recommended it to me, and he quit after reading it and smoked for 15 years. it has a 60% success rate. you may not need it, but it's something for me to believe in besides just stopping. i usually smoke around 3/4 of a pack a day, and i woke up at 6:45 am it's now 4:06 pm and i've smoked 3 cigarettes.
