I've been working since September 3rd, and up until last Monday, I thought everything was just fine, until I had to fill out a few papers, which is when I learned I'd been working without getting paid since the school year began. Nobody on the agency's end told me, nobody at the school I was working at told me, and the family of the child I work with didn't realize that I had to wait until my company got their child's case from the Department of Education before I could return to work and get paid. Now my money situation is in limbo: I'm going to get paid for the last three days I worked, but the company's trying to figure out whether or not the government is going to pay me or not, and if they don't, I'll have to get my lawyers involved. (Dad and bro; it pays to have lawyers in the family.) All the while, I'd rather just get paid so I can get on with my life.
