o.k., sorry, yes, i have been bad about updating. no good excuse other than i've been working a lot. (which is good! work = money! yay!)
two interesting things:
1 - i interviewed for a gig at a magazine. different, but very, very cool. we'll see what happens.
2 - my girl heather came into town this weekend (one of my creative managers from a previous life) -- great to see her, but...well, things just aren't how they used to be. i'm not stunned, but i was a little surprised about how she's changed: she has lost a ton a weight (too much, if you ask me) and now she is obsessed with being skinny and dressing in couture.
typical comment from heather yesterday as we wandered from designer boutique to designer boutique: "yes, that donut looks yummy, but it's not as yummy as being skinny."
she is a size 0-1. 26 inch waist. when i worked with her she was about a 6, and, of course, looked amazing.
and now she won't wear anything that isn't designer. she always had a killer sense of style -- it's just now it needs to have a name on it.
i love her dearly -- and she was once my greatest confidante and one of my closest friends...and now i'm not quite sure what to say to her sometimes. i mean, my "high-end" shopping is done at urban outfitters and american apparel. the closest gucci gets to my body is when we shoot it on a job.
just interesting to see how we all change...and how, sadly, you lose connections sometimes. i'm still trying to get by...she's considering taking a creative directorship at a big brand for $380,000/year.
but the loss of the deep connection we had makes me a little sad.
