"Pickles" I want to rename him to something he'll respond to.

Arthur. You can see the burrs all over his head. As soon as he gets more used to people and chills out we're going after him with a pair of scissors and some defrizz stuff that they apparently have at Tractor Supply.

I've been talking to a rescue place near me about maybe getting assistance with them, and they said unless they can come and get the animals, there isn't very much they can do except refer me to vets and such and tell me where to get supplies for them (a lot of places I've already found with google), and they gave me a couple websites and book titles to look into. And since we put the big bale of hay out there they have been seeming more alert and their eyes look a little brighter. They seem more open to being worked with since they realized that we're trying to help them. Problem is that Arthur has never been worked with. But that's a longer story. He's smart and he's learning, but he's just a bit ignorant. I've finally got him where he leaves a little space between us when we're walking around. He's taken a shine to me; fallows me around like a lost puppy when I'm out there. I just need him to understand that my carhartt is not delicious noms. I used carrots to get close to them, and now they are taking pleasure from attention, so that's a good step forward I think.

And apparently the burrs aren't really bad for him, but I can't do any cutting on his tail till after summer because it acts like a flyswatter. the mane I can go after whenever I can get close enough and he'll let me.
I'm actually taking suggestions on renaming Pickles. I figured what better way to name a horse than to ask insanely beautiful women?
