went to normandy....saw where my grandfather fought. felt like i could do, be more. the man was a professional soldier, a leader, a warrior, and a damned good man. i wish i had know him, even if just briefly. a good man was Morris G. Swain, CPT, INFANTRY (RET). He did some powerful things in Normandy. And i am sure his men benefited from it endlessly.

My grandfathers missed combat. One drew motor pool duty in Hawaii. The other was in intelligence.
