Another weekend. Miles driven, food made, errands run. I like the formula of my weekends.
The checker at Whole Foods this morning was dubious about my eating of pho for brunch on Sunday morning, but as soon as I told her it's common in Vietnam, it all made sense to her.
I got stopped three times by people to ask abut my car today. I find that truly odd given that around here no one even notices the hundred-fifty-thousand-dollar pasta rockets that people drive to Wendy's around here. One little black Japanese sedan with a ridiculous wing, though, and they all come to chat.
A very nice older gentleman traded me dollar bills at the car wash today. None of mine would go through since I laundered them accidentally and they were extremely crisp. To help offset the good karma he expended, I gave someone else my extra token when I left.
Now, I'm going to write a bit and go to bed. I'm amused that my protagonist is giving a critique of current literature even as he tells his story. I didn't really intend for it to happen, but he just started talking about the state of things, which seemed utterly natural.

You have resurfaced the craving I have had for pho since May. Thanks a lot.
